Melissa Nelson, Head of School

Hello, Clarksburg Classical Academy Families,
I am Principal Melissa Nelson and I am thrilled to start this new adventure at Clarksburg Classical Academy. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree in Special Education, with certifications in Autism and Professional Administration. I have 19 years of experience in education.
Personally, I am married to my husband Michael Nelson and together we have four daughters: Jada, Taylor, Channelle, and Myka who have attended local schools in Harrison County. My hobbies are golfing and watching football on the weekends.
Professionally, I am very passionate about making a difference in my students and the teachers I lead. I look for new ways to promote growth and engage all to want to keep learning. I believe that we can accomplish all things when we do our best, try our best, and be our best person. I am a firm believer that every student can learn when they have structure, are motivated, and encouraged to do their best.
I made this move to Clarksburg Classical Academy because in this school we will hold ourselves to the highest curriculum standards, driven by a commitment to excellence. Our aspiration is not only to educate, but to inspire, challenge, and empower every student who walks through our doors. Together, we will create an environment where every child can flourish. Our mission is to transform the lives of our students, families, and fellow educators. I look forward to getting to know the names of all our students and working with our school families.
I am here if you have any questions or concerns. Please do not hesitate to reach out.
Respectfully,
Principal Nelson
